Fibre target calculator
Fibre is published against energy rather than as one number for every adult, because a bigger appetite means more food on the plate and the fibre that comes with it scales too.
The Australian Dietary Guidelines put it at 14 g per 1000 kcal. Platify uses that same figure everywhere a fibre target appears, from one constant, so the onboarding target and the daily check cannot drift apart.
Kilocalories.
- Daily fibre target
- 31 g
- Rate applied
- 14 g per 1000 kcal
This is the guideline rate on its own. A meal plan's own fibre target applies a floor as well, so at a low energy figure the number in the app can read a little higher than this.
Where these numbers come from
NHMRC Australian Dietary Guidelines (2013, under review): 14 g of fibre per 1000 kcal for adults.
