- Raw Chicken Breast
- Light soy sauce
- Ginger
- Black Pepper, Ground
- Cornflour - from maize starch
- Canola Oil
- Orange juice
- Navel Orange
- Light soy sauce
- White rice vinegar
- Honey
- Ginger
- Garlic cloves
- Cornflour - from maize starch
- Water
- Boiled Brown Rice
- Spring Onion
- Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- 1.Cut the chicken into small cubes.
- 2.Place the chicken in a bowl with the soy sauce, grated ginger and pepper. Mix well until evenly coated.
- 3.Add the cornflour and toss until every piece is completely coated.
- 4.Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
- 5.Cook the chicken for 3–4 minutes per side until golden, crispy and fully cooked. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- 6.In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, orange zest, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, cornflour and water until smooth.
- 7.Remove any excess oil from the pan, leaving about 1 teaspoon. Add the garlic and ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- 8.Pour the orange sauce into the pan and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens into a glossy sauce.
- 9.Return the chicken to the pan and gently toss until every piece is evenly coated.
- 10.Serve immediately with cooked rice, then garnish with spring onion and sesame seeds if desired.
