Your calorie and macro targets

Why did my calorie target change?

By the Platify team

It can be unsettling when your calorie target moves on its own. If you're on Premium, that's usually because your nutrition coach reviewed your energy balance trend at your weekly check-in and recommended an update, shown as a card you accept or skip yourself. If you're on the free plan, your targets don't move on their own: they only change when you edit them.

What actually moves my target?

Your energy balance trend over the week: whether you've been burning a little more or a little less than your goal pace. Your coach reviews this weekly, not from a single day or a single weigh-in, so one big meal or one light day won't swing it.

What doesn't move my target?

Day-to-day water weight and a single unusual day are filtered out before they reach the recommendation. When that happens, the card says so directly, so you're not left guessing why a number looks off.

Do I have to accept the change?

No. The card is a recommendation, not an automatic update. Tap Accept to apply it, or Not now to keep your current numbers for now.

Why don't I see this on the free plan?

Weekly target recommendations are part of the Premium nutrition coach's check-in. On the free plan, you see a locked preview of that card instead of real numbers, and you keep full control: your targets stay exactly as you set them until you change them yourself.

Frequently asked

My target changed but I didn't do anything, is that normal?

On Premium, yes: your coach reviews your trend weekly and can recommend a change, which appears as a card you accept or skip. On the free plan targets only change when you (or someone with account access) edit them.

Can I go back to my old target?

Yes. Open Targets and edit the numbers back to what you'd like, any time.
