Your calorie and macro targets

What is my Dynamic TDEE?

By the Platify team

Your Dynamic TDEE is Platify's ongoing estimate of how much energy your body burns each day. Unlike a one-off calculator result, it's a living number: it starts as a spread during setup and narrows into a sharper estimate as you log, typically getting personal after about 6 out of 7 days of logging a week. On Premium, your nutrition coach uses it to recommend target updates at your weekly check-in.

Why does the estimate change over time?

As your weight changes, the energy your body needs changes with it. A lighter body tends to burn a little less, so a target that never moved would quietly stop matching your body. Dynamic TDEE keeps pace with you instead of freezing on day one's guess.

How much logging does it need?

About 6 out of 7 days a week. Every day you log gives a clearer read on your real energy balance, so the estimate tightens from a wide starting spread into a number that's more genuinely yours.

Does it change my targets automatically?

Not on its own. On Premium, your nutrition coach reviews your Dynamic TDEE trend at your weekly check-in and shows a "Recommended for next week" card that you can accept or dismiss. On the free plan, your targets only change when you edit them yourself on the Targets screen.

Is this different from my starting calorie target?

Your starting calorie target is the first number, worked out from a formula at setup. Dynamic TDEE is what that estimate becomes once real logging data feeds into it. See the related article below for how the setup-time number is worked out.

Frequently asked

Do I need to do anything for it to work?

Just log most days. About 6 out of 7 days a week gives Platify enough signal to keep the estimate accurate, no extra effort beyond your normal logging.

Does my Dynamic TDEE change my targets automatically?

On Premium, your nutrition coach reviews it at your weekly check-in and recommends a change, which you accept or skip. On the free plan, your targets stay put until you edit them yourself.
