Shopping list
How does my shopping list work?
By the Platify team
Your shopping list is Premium, and it is built automatically from your active meal plan. Items are grouped by aisle, with a separate pantry section for staples such as oils and spices you likely already have. Check items off as you shop; your ticks are saved so you can pick up where you left off.
What if I don't have a meal plan yet?
You are guided straight to building one. The shopping list is generated from your active plan, so there needs to be a plan in place first.
How are items grouped?
Ingredients from your plan's recipes are combined and grouped by supermarket aisle, so you are not hunting back and forth across sections while you shop.
What goes in the pantry section?
Common staples you likely already have, like oils, spices and basic condiments, sit in a separate pantry section below the aisle groups. That section starts collapsed so it is not competing for attention with what you actually need to buy.
Nothing on your list is ticked for you, in the pantry section or anywhere else. A tick always means you ticked it, so the list never tells you that you have something you have not checked.
If the guess is wrong, open the item and choose Move to staples or Move out of staples. That choice is remembered for that ingredient. See adding your own rows, and the Staples section.
Is the list built for Australia?
Yes. The ingredient data behind it is Australian, so quantities and foods line up with what is on the shelf here. Recognisable Australian brands also get their own icon on the list, so a row is quicker to spot while you are shopping.
The list does not pick a brand for you. It names the food, and which brand you buy is your call.
Can I change what is on the list?
Yes. You can type a row on, rename a row so it reads the way you think of it, split a combined row back into its parts, and flag a row that looks wrong. See adding your own rows, and the Staples section.
