Troubleshooting
Notifications not arriving
By the Platify team
Missing notifications almost always come down to one of three things: the OS permission being off, a specific category toggled off in Platify, or, on Android, that category's channel silenced in your phone's settings. Check the Notifications screen in Profile first: it shows your permission status and lets you fix each part directly.
How do I check if notification permission is on?
Open Profile, then Notifications. Near the top, a row reads "Notifications are on" or "Notifications are off." If it's off and you haven't been asked before, tap "Turn on" to get the OS prompt. If you've already said no once, the button reads "Open settings" instead, since the OS won't let Platify ask again in-app.
Why is only one type of notification missing?
Platify has 7 separate categories you can turn on or off individually: Meal reminders, Streak nudges, Trial reminders, Weekly progress, Coach replies, Check-ins, and Plan updates. Scroll down on the Notifications screen and check the toggle for the type you're expecting; it's easy to have turned one off without meaning to.
Do Android channels affect this too?
On Android, each of those 7 categories has its own notification channel, and your phone's system settings can mute or restrict a channel separately from Platify's own toggle. If a category is on in Platify but still not arriving, check that category's channel in your phone's app notification settings too.
What if notifications are still off after all that?
Tap "Open settings" on the Notifications screen. It opens your device's settings for Platify directly, so you can turn notifications back on without hunting through menus.
Frequently asked
Do I need to turn on every category?
No. Each of the 7 categories is independent, so you can keep the ones you want and turn off the rest.
Will reinstalling the app fix missing notifications?
Usually not on its own. Check the permission row and the specific category toggle first; those are the most common causes.
