Recipes and taste profile

How do my favourites change what I see?

By the Platify team

Your favourites are a nudge, not a filter. They lift food you like higher when you browse recipes and feed the picks rail, and they never take a recipe away. Open Profile, then Your favourites, to change them.

What is in the favourites editor?

Three things. Favourite ingredients, grouped as proteins, vegetables, carbs and grains, fruit, dairy, and legumes and beans. Cuisines you lean toward. And the recipes you have saved with the heart on a recipe. Each section lists what you have picked as chips you can remove, with an Add option to pick more.

Do favourites remove anything from my recipes?

No, and this is deliberate. A favourite is a ranking signal: it moves food you like up the list. Nothing you skip is hidden, and the full library stays searchable. The only choices that actually remove recipes are your allergens and eating-style settings, which live in Profile under Dietary and allergens.

How quickly do changes apply?

The chip appears or disappears as you tap, and the change saves in the background. If a save does not go through, the chip comes back with a quiet note so you know it did not stick, rather than the app pretending it did.

What if my tastes change?

Come back and edit it. There is no lock-in and no penalty for changing your mind, which is the same reasoning behind eating your favourite foods rather than working from a fixed list.

Frequently asked

Will picking favourites hide food I did not pick?

No. Favourites only change the order things appear in. Everything in the recipe library stays browsable and searchable whatever you pick.

How do I stop a food appearing at all?

That is an allergen or eating-style choice rather than a favourite. Open Profile, then Dietary and allergens, and set it there. Those are the only choices that remove recipes.
