Instructions

  1. 1.Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced) and line a baking tray with baking paper. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then pat them thoroughly dry with a paper towel to ensure maximum crunch.
  2. 2.In a mixing bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with the olive oil, garlic powder, and dried oregano until they are evenly coated.
  3. 3.Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer on the prepared baking tray. Roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes, shaking the tray halfway through, until they are beginning to turn golden.
  4. 4.Carefully remove the tray from the oven. Sprinkle the nutritional yeast and salt over the chickpeas and toss well to ensure even coverage.
  5. 5.Return the tray to the oven for a final 5-8 minutes until the chickpeas are golden brown and crispy. Watch closely to ensure the yeast is toasted but not burnt.
  6. 6.Remove from the oven and allow the chickpeas to cool on the tray for at least 5 minutes; they will continue to crisp up as they reach room temperature.
